I made the translation of the ribosome-pro.po file into Portuguese by creating the file pt_PT.po as explained below, but I put the file pt_PT.po and pt_PT.mo in the folder (wp-content / themes / Ribosome-pro / languages) but the site continues everything in English. What do I need to do for your theme to work with the pt_PT.po file?
To translate the theme, Ribosome Pro has a ribosome-pro.po file in the languages folder (wp-content / themes / Ribosome-pro / languages) which is to translate the theme to any language. For the translation of the theme you need the free program Poedit (http://www.poedit.net/).
Basically the translation is done as follows:
ribosome-pro.po doubles and rename it to pt_PT.po (or language code you need).
Open this file in free software Poedit.
Enter your Portuguese language terms in the Poedit software
When you save the file pt_PT.po another called pt_PT.mo be created. You must upload both files to the ‘languages’ folder of Ribosome Pro

In addition to creating the files you have created (pt_PT.po and pt_PT.mo) and upload them to the languages folder of the theme, you must have set Portuguese as your language for your site.
To change the language of your site you must go to Settings > General > Site Language and select Portuguese.

How are you?
I already did and it did not work!
Translated the file into Portuguese, put the two files in the languages folder and changed the language in wordpress to Portuguese and did not translate anything
Look at the prints below:
I just need to translate these two texts (Read more and Previous / Next) that appear on the main page and did not work.
I have tried to translate the texts (Read more and Previous / Next) to Portuguese directly in the file (ribosome-pro.po) that works to see if it appeared translate on my site but did not translate and continued in English. I also tried to change in the espanhou file (es_ES.po) and it did not work the site was all in spain but the words that I translated continued in Spanish.
I already tried to change the words below in the files (ribosome-pro.po) and (es_ES.po) and it does not change in the site, it changes the whole theme to the Spanish or English but the words that I translated below continue without change
msgid “Read more”
msgstr “Leia mais”
msgid “« Previous”
msgstr “« Anterior”
msgid “Next »”
msgstr “Proximo »”

You should not edit those files directly.
The translation does not work because you have not done well.
If you have set the language of your site in Brazilian Portuguese, the files should be called pt_BR.po and pt_BR.mo, not pt_PT.po and pt_PT.mo as you have done.

It was me that sent the wrong print, because I tested with (portugues) and (portugues do brasil) as I now send the correct print and it did not work the same way
If you have any email, I can send you the login and password of my wordpress and the login and password of my FTP to verify that the translation file is correct in the folder (languages) and that I changed the language in wordpress to Portuguese Brazil and it did not work

If you want to make the Brazilian translation available in your Ribosome-pro theme for your future clients, follow below the link for you to download.
However although everything is translated correctly etc .. does not work when I change the language of the theme Ribosome-pro to Portuguese Brazil.
You can take advantage of the translation files that I send and test to see if it works with you when you change theme to Brazilian Portuguese.

The Portuguese translation worked! I think it was the server cache that was not showing the translated site.
Enjoy the file of the translation that I sent you and make available the Portuguese translation in your theme.

I apologize for the delay in answering you and thank you for the archives.
Precisely today I intended to respond by saying that something you were not doing well because your translation files worked correctly, as you can see in the following screenshots.
I’m glad you solved the problem and again thank you for the files. Regards.
